The first time a botanist spotted a Sunset Moth was in Bengal. So the botanist assumed that Sunset Moths are native to Bengal or possibly China. Later, it was discovered that their natural home is Madagascar. They can be seen there most of the year and especially in the spring and summer.
The female Sunset Moth lays about 80 eggs. The little baby Sunset caterpillars are yellow with black spots. They have fat little red feet covered in tiny bristles of black hair.
