Chrysoprase

Chrysoprase gets its green color from traces of nickel present in its base of chalcedony.

Chrysoprase meaning: There are a few possible sources for the origin of the name Chrysoprase.  There is the Middle English word, crisopace, the Latin word, chrysoprasus, the Greek word, chrysoprasos, which is a combination of two words, chrys and prason which seem to translate as leek.  So maybe it started as a Greek word in that its color is a leek green in hue.
