Bumblebee Jasper

Bumblebee Jasper

Although this has been officially named a jasper, it really isn't.  It is actually a sedimentary rock comprised of calcite, aragonite, sulfur (yellow part), manganese oxide (black part), realgar and orpiment (orange part).  The calcite and aragonite are the glue that holds the rest together.  Bumble Bee Jasper forms in holes in the earth and volcanoes.
